A second theme: balance needs to be assessed with a broad perspective

A second theme has emerged from me reflecting on my posts on this Shrine and other materials that I have been considering:

balance needs to be assessed with a broad perspective

I won’t try to assess specific posts, but I will list a few examples: 

• balance may be achieved across multiple lifetimes, which requires a perspective across time; 

• in particular, social balance requires consideration of social dynamics and power structures (e.g., claass, social privilege), which requires perspectives that overcome problems such as (especially parentally or peer) trained  bigotry/hate and unmanaged unconscious bias; and
  

• groups and situations may acheive balance most efficiently and effectively by having individuals with well developed specific skills or skill sets, rather than trying to force everyone to be universally and equally skilled in all matters.

Where I can, I will try to highlight possible flaws / issues you should consider: 

• there may be flawed logical arguments in the above: to find out more about such flaws and thinking generally, I recommend Brendan  Myers’ free online course “Clear and Present Thinking”;  
• I could be wrong - so keep your thinking caps on, and make up your own minds for yourself.
